Agitation, frustration and too much coffee
My mind is racing and thinking about all the shit I gotta do
My body is “off”
My eyes have seen too many screens
My brain has one too many batteries plugged into it
My blood is starting to simmer
I fight it, but part of me is searching for situations to find disagreeable, things to be upset about and people to be pissed off at
I need to be in a better place
Right now, I’m a fucking problem
I’ve got demons to exorcise
Fortunately there is one thing I can always rely on
It’s time to make peace with the day
I get in my truck and crank stress music fueled by angry musicians to match my mood
And I Continue reading
As humans living in an ever-changing and complex world, we tend to think that everything has to be complicated.
But often times the best answers are the simple ones.
1. Need more money?
Add more value to the world.
Man, life’s too short to be bored—go do something fun
3. Too many commitments?
Say “no” more often
4. Stressed out?
Meditate, exercise, do that shit you’ve been putting off; don’t take yourself so seriously; stop trying to Continue reading
Wanna do great things?
Make up your mind that NOTHING is gonna stop you.
No one else has a say, unless you give ’em that right.
It’s literally all up to you.
Your success or failure has nothing to do with anything else, anyone else, and anything that is not YOU.
Thinking that something or someone can stand in your way is giving away all your power and giving permission to the world to choose your destiny for you.
Stories in your head about why you can’t do it—the kids, your lack of skills and education, it’s too late, too early, you’re too young, too old, or the dog ate your homework and pissed on your good shoes—are works of pure fiction unless you choose to make them your reality.
If your reason “why” is big enough, you’ll find a way to do it.
If you’re Continue reading
We Are the Distracted.
Citizens of an Attention Deficit Culture.
A generation trying to do too many things at once, paying too much attention to shit that doesn’t matter, and never fully focusing on the things that are most important to us and best serve our journey.
But even in this complicated and frenzied modern-day world, by doing just a few simple things, you can flip the commotion, confusion and interferences on their ears, and focus like a fucking champ.
I actually have clinically diagnosed A.D.D. … I was one of those kids teachers would have to pry down from the ceiling fan just to get me to stay in my seat.
The remarks on my report cards were always the same: “Chris is a nice boy and has a lot of potential. But it’s like mentally he’s not even in the classroom. He seems to be constantly daydreaming—off in La-La Land”
I happen to like La-La Land… it’s where the fun stuff happens, and there was definitely nothing fun goin’ on in the classroom…
… Unless it was the almighty “show and tell day” and some kid brought in a tarantula or boa constrictor or something cool that bites and scares girls. Otherwise, I couldn’t pay attention or process a thing.Continue reading
WARNING: There’s nothing revolutionary here.
In fact, you already know this stuff. It’s nothing new, no big secrets revealed, no new data uncovered. These are just the Cliff Notes to the book you’ve already read.
But sometimes in life something gets lost in translation between knowing and doing… life’s little dramas pull us in and we forget the important stuff.
We need to remember what we know, and if you’re anything like me, you can use all the reminders you can get.
So I present to you…
According to Forbes, a survey was done in April and May 2012, involving responses from 411 workers in the U.S. and Canada, and only 19% said they were satisfied with their jobs.
16% said they were “somewhat satisfied.”
The rest, nearly two-thirds of respondents, said they were not happy at work.
What a horrible way to spend half of your waking hours, doing something you don’t enjoy.
How in the hell could a man enjoy being awakened at 6:30 a.m. by an alarm clock, leap out of bed, dress, force-feed, shit, piss, brush teeth and hair, and fight traffic to get to a place where essentially you made lots of money for somebody else and were asked to be grateful for the opportunity to do so?
Fortunately it doesn’t have to be this way.
There are people all over the world, who couldn’t stand their job, dropped it for doing something they enjoy, and are now far happier.
If you aren’t happy with your current job or career, keep reading, cuz’ you too, can make a living doing something you not only like doing, but are extremely passionate about as well.
The first step, is to Continue reading
From Arnold and Ronnie Coleman, to Jack Lalanne, Louie Simmons, The Navy Seals, Henry Rollins and even Socrates, here’s the most badass quotes about training I could find…
Please add any of your own favorites I didn’t include here in the comment section down below
1. “No citizen has a right to be an amateur in the matter of physical training… what a disgrace it is for a man to grow old without ever seeing the beauty and strength of which his body is capable.” – Socrates
2. “The more you sweat in training, the less you bleed in combat.” – Navy SEAL’s
3. “Just remember, somewhere, a little Chinese girl is warming up with your max.” – Jim Conroy, Olympic Weightlifting Coach

5. “The pain of discipline is nothing like the pain of disappointment” – Justin Langer

How To Get Back Up On Your Feet and Kick Some SERIOUS Ass…
We all fall down every now and then… it’s what we do when we hit the ground that matters….
Do we stay down? … Or do we get back up and transmute our failures into something great?
At one point I had nearly a decade clean and sober (I wrote about it HERE).
Yet there I was, checking into a detox facility in San Clemente, California, where I’d be laid up next to street junkies puking their brains out, complaining that their suboxone dose is too small to ward off the evil spirits of the kick, and hating the sheer fact that they were still alive.
And guess what? I was the only one in this place trying to keep a positive attitude. I mean, it was time to get back on my feet again. I was soooo done living the life of hopeless opiate addict—surviving from fix to fix and constantly running from the agonizing pain of withdrawal, that dark cloud that looms over anyone hooked on the milk of the poppy.
But Continue reading
Even though this crazy universe we live in is infinitely more complex than that shit Will Hunting was scribbling on the chalk boards when no one was looking, a lot of the most important things in life are actually pretty damn simple.
Ya know… be cool to people, have fun, be active, eat good foods, drink water, get rest, do what you love, make a contribution, nurture relationships, accept the “Isness” of things, be present… that sorta thing, we all know the drill… shit, Grandma covered most of it by the time were seven.
Often times, it simply comes down to doing less of one thing, and more of another.
Less complaining, more solution
Less Facebook, more face to face
Less processed food, junk food, gluten, refined sugar, artificial sweeteners, trans fat and Satan Monsanto, more REAL all-natural organic foods ( Actually, fuck less Monsanto, make it no Monsanto )
Less drinking empty calories, more water
Less excuses, more personal accountability
Less staying busy for the sake of being busy, more impact
Less getting lost in the doing, more being
Less vampires, more positive relationships with people who empower and support you ( and whom you empower and support )
Less American Idol, more books
Less sitting on the couch, more getting outside
Less bullshitContinue reading

“Creativity is the greatest rebellion in existence.” – Osho
Like a starving man deserves a good meal, you owe it to yourself to do something great.
You owe it to the ones who will never have the opportunities you have…like any one of the billions of people who every day are forced to live on less than it costs to buy one drink at Starbucks.
To those living under communist rule, without the freedoms you have to express yourself in anyway you damn well please.
You owe it to everyone who can’t. Everyone who doesn’t have access to the internet, a blog, an iPhone, software, social media, jobs, information, wisdom, and opportunities…
…Opportunities to share your story and spread your ideas to the masses…
…To stand up against the wrongs of the world and create change…or to even just share a beautiful poem, song, or piece of artwork that your mind transformed from a simple vision into something real.
You own it to little ones dying of cancer, the drivers unaware they will be dyingContinue reading
Most of us are way to serious, way too often, turning everyday situations into problems, constantly on the lookout for shit to complain about and worrying about a bunch of things that simply do not matter.
While it’s good to handle your business and get serious about growing, loving and being the best person you can be, being too serious can straight-up hinder your ability to enjoy an awesome life like being questioned by a cop can hinder an enjoyable LSD trip.
Getting caught up in the drama of life is a buzzkill on steroids. Life is meant to be enjoyed, not fretted over with a furrowed brow and a cantaloupe sized knot in your gut.
Here’s 17 reasons why you don’t wanna take life too seriously…Continue reading
No designer jeans required. In fact, if you’ve got some on right now, tear em’ off and throw em’ on the floor.
“I think the invention of pockets ruined everything, I think we were much happier, living naked, running around on the beach eating fruit and fucking”
I once saw a Craigslist ad, in the section, where they list all the boot camps and fitness training services. The ad was for “Nude Personal Training”. The guy talked about how training nude was the best way to get results, and he was happy to come and help you out for just $100 a session.Continue reading
Even if your day kicked straight-up fucking ass yesterday, and it was the best day you ever lived period, today is your chance to make it even better.
Years ago I would start my day off with the thought, “Not again, man I don’t wanna get up and do this shit,” followed by something to be “justifiably” mad about, a box of Pop Tarts, a cigarette, a fistful of worries, a fat rail of something to get me going, a few bong rips, a handful of Vicodin and Xanax, a heavy dose of regret, and a Slayer song cranked on 10.Continue reading

49 life lessons from 4 fighters. Two real and two fictional…
… All four live on in my heart and in the hearts of millions worldwide.
1. Always be yourself, express yourself, have faith in yourself, do not go out and look for a successful personality and duplicate it.
2. Mistakes are always forgivable, if one has the courage to admit them.
3. If you love life, don’t waste time, for time is what life is made up of.
4. A wise man can learn more from a foolish question than a fool can learn from a wise answer.Continue reading
In today’s super-speed-ball world of instant connection, lightning-fast information, and obsession with non-stop “doing,” checking messages, and tweeting, we’re all so busy that no one’s actually stopped to smell a rose since 1974.
We run around like soccer moms on Adderall and energy drinks constantly trying to get to the next thing…and the thing we’re doing now, whether it’s flossing or fornicating, is oftentimes just a means to an end.Continue reading
Some people are just happy to go to work and couldn’t care less how they spend their days, as long as those days pay the bills so they can have a nice big television and keep up with the Kardashians.
They couldn’t care less about their job, have no passionate pursuits, have no clear and definite purpose, and have no dreams….all that stuff’s best left to the people on the television set.
Whether that something great is creating beautiful music, making amazing art, writing books that change lives, building their dream business, making people all over the world laugh, starting a non-profit, or just making the best damn home-fried potatoes for miles around.
I don’t know what it is for you, but if you’re a reader of this blog, chances are it’s something.Continue reading
You have a straight-up awesome life.
I don’t care what kinda stuff you gotta going on that might be trying to drag you down right now…
Your life kicks more ass than Bruce Lee, rocks harder than Ronnie James Dio, is cooler than Fonzie and contains more awesomeness than a team of break dancing babies.
Now, I realize you may not always remember that you have an awesome life, but you do. Sure, sometimes you remember, I bet there’s times when you feel like the coolest mofo on the planet with the most badass life around, but if you’re like most people, these thoughts are few and far between.Continue reading
1. Because not training is saying “Fuck you” to your body and your life
2. You’ll be that much closer to turning into your childhood hero
3. Because Jack Lalanne would be proud ( RIP Jack )
4. Because you do not want to be one of those people who don’t train, do you? That’s no way to live.
5. Because it’s just plain the safest way possible for you to get rid of all that pent-up aggression you have. Trust me, just take it out on the iron, it’s best for everyone involved.Continue reading
